Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the CardSense mobile application and related features (collectively, the "App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1) Eligibility and Account

• You must use a valid Google account to sign in.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your account and device.
• You agree to provide accurate information when adding cards, transactions, and statements.

2) Scope of the App

The App is designed to help you organize and visualize card-related data, including card details (such as last 4 digits), statements, transactions, reminders, and security alerts. Features may include manual entry, receipt scanning, statement import, report export, and cloud sync.

3) Privacy and Data Handling

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy: privacy-policy.html. The Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, where it is stored, and how it is shared with third-party infrastructure providers.

4) Statement (SOA/PDF) Imports

• You may import statement PDFs to extract statement and transaction data.
• For supported formats, parsing occurs in-app. Parsing may still produce mistakes; you are responsible for reviewing imported data.
• If a statement format is unsupported, the App may ask for your explicit consent before submitting a copy of the PDF for parser improvement.
• When contribution upload is used, the App is designed not to include your PDF password in that upload payload.

5) User Responsibilities

• Keep your device secure with OS-level lock, updates, and anti-malware hygiene.
• Do not use rooted, tampered, or otherwise compromised devices for sensitive financial data.
• Do not upload content you do not have the legal right to process.
• Review reminders, imports, and generated summaries before relying on them.

6) Security Features and Limitations

The App includes security-oriented features such as optional app lock (PIN/biometric), suspicious environment checks, spend alerts, and secure-display behavior on selected screens. These features reduce risk but do not guarantee absolute security. No software or network is completely secure.

7) Notifications and Exports

• The App may generate local notifications (e.g., due reminders, promo alerts, security alerts) based on your settings.
• If you export or share reports (PDF/CSV), you are responsible for where those files are sent and who can access them.

8) Financial Disclaimer

The App provides informational tools only. It does not provide financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. You remain solely responsible for payment decisions, budgeting decisions, and all actions taken based on App outputs.

9) Prohibited Use

You agree not to misuse the App, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer protected components where prohibited by law, or use the App for fraud, unauthorized access, or unlawful activities.

10) Third-Party Services

The App integrates third-party services for identity, analytics, mapping, notifications, and cloud synchronization. Service interruptions, API changes, or provider outages may affect App availability or behavior.

11) Service Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any App feature at any time, including for maintenance, upgrades, compliance, or security reasons.

12) Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of uninterrupted operation, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill arising from your use of the App.

14) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted in this document with a revised effective date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
